I'm Nakia Queen, Creative Brand Strategist with 15+ years at the intersection of fashion, beauty, and editorial storytelling.
My career began where most brand strategists don't, on the production floor at Calvin Klein, with internships at Libertine and VPL under Victoria Bartlett. I learned early that the most powerful brands aren't built from briefs. They're built from a deep understanding of the person you're designing for and an unwavering commitment to why the brand exists in the first place.
From fashion I moved into editorial publishing, founding and directing three media properties, Vogue & Vintage, The Dolls & The Queen, and Blanc Spaces, over a decade. I built audiences, developed brand partnerships with Derma-E, Herbivore, Farmacy, Target, Hallmark, and Iberostar, and learned what it means to create content that a community actually wants to show up for.
That editorial foundation led me into digital design and UX, where I spent years leading creative and UX direction for complex platforms, learning to think in user journeys, systems, and experience architecture. That chapter didn't pull me away from brand strategy. It deepened it. Today I bring a systems thinker's mind to brand work, considering not just how a brand looks, but how it moves, how it feels to interact with, and how every touchpoint connects back to the why.
